Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
The stats of an item can be enhanced by upgrading it, which is also known as "upping". Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an indicator of the level of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item increases with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components

You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Most equipment has slots that can be upgraded, and many require a specific level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others give general bonuses.

Choose the item from your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will show the expected stats following the upgrade. If you do not have enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will say Blocked.
The amount of upgrade components required for a particular item can be seen in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of upgrade and rarity, however it can be reduced using various methods, such as buying upgrades from a vendor or trading them with other players.
Nearly all weapons can be upgraded with the use of a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia, or a rune. Many can be upgraded using an upgrade suffix. These upgrades add an adjective to the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs

Each glyph has a set of values it can enhance a stat in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This isn't the exact amount at which glyphs can improve a stat, but the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the item you're enchanting it to.
The majority of upgrade components inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without removing them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a rune or glyph you do not want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu on the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
improve armor can remove a glyph by using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item on which the glyph is installed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be salvaged using the glyph shards.
A glyph added to an item could cause it to be unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you take it down. Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens let players change the affixes of their weapons and equipment, and they can be obtained in a variety of ways such as in mistery boxes or as a rare drop from skulled creatures, or by killing bosses. Reroll tokens give players a new random affix that is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the item upgrade menu, however they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level, which means items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.
In addition to reroll tokens, players can use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to reroll the Weapon Traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls are a great option for upgrading an item, however, players should be aware that it will lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls used in order to increase it to the final level. Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to allow players to pay for it with cash or food items that will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without spending excessive amounts of time. The developers have no plans to introduce paid rerolls at this stage of the game's development. Instead, they're planning add an ability to change races in the future.
Leveling
There are many ways to level up an upgrade to an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade that increases the value of an upgrade for a given stat. The second option is to boost the impact of the upgrade, which boosts the damage or healing of the stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type. After this the new item will maintain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded type of item.
When you upgrade items It is crucial to keep in mind that upgrades aren't always planned. Most of the time the best roll will result from glyphs, however there are also chances for more or unique rolls.
